Ukraine has not missed the deadline for nominating a candidate to the International Criminal Court (ICC), and speculation to the contrary is untrue, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iryna Mudra has said. Quote: "From 24 March to 26 March, the selection board interviewed the candidates. Following the review, the commission noted the participants' high professional standards, deep knowledge of international law, ICC case law and the Rome Statute, as well as proper standards of integrity and professional training. On 8 April, the selection board determined candidates for further nomination." More details: Mudra said the main candidate is Supreme Court judge Lev Kyshakevych, while the reserve candidate is Oksana Senatorova, one of Ukraine's best-known experts in international criminal law. Quote: "Unfortunately, certain political circles are once again trying to turn the subject of international justice not into a professional discussion, but into their usual campaign to hunt for 'betrayal'.
